Code of Practice for the internet & ICT Systems
All users of the network and Internet system must abide by the, following rules remembering that the confidentiality of information, and the operation of the network resources depend on the practice, of these rules.
The Rules:
- As a user of the system you are responsible for ensuring that no one other than you uses your identity or password.
- If someone is using your identity or password to send unauthorised messages, or to access inappropriate areas of the Internet, it will be assumed that you have approved this.
- You are reminded that it is a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act (1990) to access, or attempt to access, any computer system without permission.
- You do not have the right to give someone else permission to use your access rights.
- You are expected to use the Internet and all ICT resources for appropriate work in school.
- Unless there is exception, you should not send or download executable files (i.e. programs) in any form. The School may not be licensed for their transmission and they might contain viruses.
- Sending or copying viruses over a system is also a criminal offence under the 1990 Computer Misuse Act.
- All users of the School Internet and network system are obliged to report any misuse.
